Aydan Wang

Co-Founder and Head Mentor

A firm believer in the power of holistic admissions, Aydan emphasizes the importance of storytelling throughout the entire application process. After earning early decision admission to the University of Pennsylvania, where he plans to pursue a dual degree in Molecular Biology and Economics, Aydan took two gap years to play Junior A hockey in Northern BC and, most recently, the MJHL in his home province of Manitoba. Beyond the rink, he has led and published research in the field of RNA Biology, gained exposure to the finance/biotech industry through various internships, and held numerous leadership roles throughout high school and beyond. At AdmitEcho, he helps students uncover meaningful academic, extracurricular, and research opportunities, guiding them to build applications that show who they are, not just tell.

Reece Liu

Co-Founder and Head Mentor

Having gone through the demanding university application process less than two years ago, Reece knows firsthand how challenging and confusing it can be. Last year, he played Junior A hockey in Northern Ontario, choosing to follow his passion before beginning his studies at Rice University, where he is majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Known for his attention to detail and structured approach, Reece brings a deep appreciation for organization, consistency, and the learning process itself. In high school, he excelled across a wide range of activities, from band and academic competitions to varsity soccer and competitive hockey. At AdmitEcho, Reece helps students create clear, actionable plans that make the admissions process less overwhelming and more intentional, ensuring every step moves them closer to their goals.

Markus Lam

Co-Founder and Head Mentor

Like his partners, Markus brings a firsthand understanding of the university admissions process, having recently navigated it in the 2025-26 cycle. A former WHL (Western Hockey League) draft pick, a career-ending injury forced him to pivot away from the sport he loved. Rather than letting that setback define him, Markus rebuilt his path, crafting an application that stayed true to his identity and passions. He went on to earn admission to New York University, where he continues to pursue his interests in finance and real estate. Markus works closely with students to help them clarify their goals, structure their time effectively, and tell their stories with authenticity and impact, ensuring they build an application that reflects their ambition. â€‹â€‹
